I mean this in the best way possible: I really enjoy cooking with this beer. Victory’s take seems less spicy or herbal than the other releases* but it’s still a really tasty saison. The savory spices are a welcome complement to the hops and saison esters. I use a few tablespoons in Sean Paxton’s mashed potatoes recipe and happily polish off the remainder of the bottle.
*I have only tried the DFH release, but have heard Stone’s version of Saison du BUFF is heavier on the herbs and spices.
