Lost Abbey – Gift of the Magi 2008

Okay, this was a stellar find. My sister’s fiance brought this along back during the holidays, after he found it at a bottle shop outside of Boston. Three-plus years of development in the bottle did not disappoint. There’s a fair dose of Brett, a small amount of fruity malt and peppery spice, and a smooth-yet-bitter finish. I didn’t feel that the 10% ABV is immediately noticeable, but there was a slight burn that accompanied the bitter finish. I wish we had more LA up here, as I would stock up on this every year.
